Job Summary
S&C's Finance & Accounting Department is responsible for maintenance, analysis and reporting of accounting and financial information. In this job, you will play a key role in our Finance & Accounting (F&A) team to support various Business Units. The work associated with this job includes processing various types of cost and project accounting transactions. You will report to the Manager - Project Accounting and will perform a variety of accounting activities.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Project Accounting - create, maintain, and review projects to accurately process transactions, calculate commission rates, enter budgets and funding limits, support project change orders, and close projects after validating accuracy and completeness of the project's revenue and cost.
  • Project Accounting - generate ongoing project revenue to assure compliance with U.S. GAAP as well as ensure appropriate application of sales tax rates.
  • Project Accounting - process milestone, item-based, and ad hoc invoicing to support various project types and generate timely cash flows.
  • Cost Accounting - assist with the Production Operations review of job order closure status.
  • Cost Accounting - assist with updating standard costs for new items and revisions to lot sizes.
  • Cost Accounting - updating and maintaining price lists.
  • General - assist with the month-end and year-end close processes to assure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • General - support IT Initiatives by performing integration and regression testing on ERP applications and upgrades.

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in project accounting and or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • MS Office software proficiency primarily Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Computer proficiency with Oracle (Oracle Cost Management and Projects experience preferred)
  • Detail oriented team player with ability to effectively meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
