Construction Project Accountant

P.J. Hoerr has an immediate opening for a Construction Project Accountant. P.J. Hoerr is a growing commercial construction manager, general contractor, and design/builder with offices in Peoria and Bloomington, IL. Projects range in value up to $50 million. This position will primarily perform project accounting along with helping in other accounting tasks. This is a full-time position and requires working as part of a team with a Project Manager and other accounting Staff.

Responsibilities

· Accurately track and apply costs to projects

· Enter invoices and make payments to subcontractors and suppliers

· Prepare monthly project billings with corresponding backup information

· Acquire and prepare lien waivers for submission

· Prepare and submit updated job cost spreadsheets during the project

· Work closely with title companies to comply with their requirements

· Resolve problems with job phasing, costing and retention issues

Education, Experience, Skills Required

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Accounting experience with knowledge of bookkeeping principles

· Attention to detail

· Excellent computer skills

· Strong communication skills

· Good work ethic

Preferred Experience and Qualifications (not required, but desirable)

· Previous experience with Viewpoint accounting software

· Previous experience in union construction
