Description
The Workforce Program Supervisor is responsible for supervising program staff and day-to-day operations of their workforce programs team, which includes Career Services/Wagner Peyser programming. Works under the direct supervision of the Workforce Programs Manager. Supervises and mentors a team of approximately 3 - 7 staff, as well as program operations oversight, which includes, but is not limited to, resource center operations, budget oversight, program compliance, program performance, program activities and in-person and virtual service delivery.
*This position will be stationed primarily at the Castle Rock office inside Arapahoe Community College Sturm Campus at 4500 Limelight Ave, Castle Rock, CO 80109.
Arapahoe/Douglas Works is a grant-funded organization that has operated successfully for over 40 years. All positions are subject to grant funding availability.
Duties
  • Coordinates and provides programmatic oversight for Career Services/Wagner-Peyser programming and other workforce grants and programs as assigned.
  • Exercises leadership skills with specific emphasis on integrity, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, change-management and accountability.
  • Monitors and tracks programmatic budget, which may include, but may not be limited to, participant expenditures, personnel, and administrative/overhead expenses. Ensures program funds are spent out at appropriate levels to maintain compliance.
  • Responsible for program performance goal attainment, outreach, and the development and implementation of program activities in support of outlined goals and measures.
  • Monitors program activities to ensure consistency and compliance with federal, state, contractual, and local regulations and policies, and to ensure customer access to applicable workforce services and programs.
  • Monitors team and individual performance related to programmatic goal achievement, customer service, program compliance, and case management. Provides constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Advises and coaches staff regarding effective methods for dealing with difficult customers and situations.
  • Monitors and coordinates data tracking for program outcomes, performance, and compliance.
  • Assists with onboarding and staff training and professional development.
  • Maintains thorough understanding of all internal departments, programs, and resources.
  • Provides coverage for workshop/orientation facilitation and resource centers as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all requirements as outlined in contractual agreements, federal, state, and local policies and regulations.
  • Oversees and manages day-to-day logistical tasks, issues, and activities associated with programmatic and team operations.
  • Manages and organizes staff assignments and workflow, including scheduling. Ensures staff understand duties and delegated tasks.
  • Develops and tracks outreach strategies for new and existing customers.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to enhance service delivery.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Any equivalent combination of education and relevant experience totaling 7 years will be considered, such as HS diploma or High School Equivalency + 7 years' experience, Associates + 5 years, or Bachelors + 3 years.
  • Relevant experience includes previous supervisory experience, working in workforce development, exposure to government environment, working with individuals with barriers to employment in counseling, training, vocational education, rehabilitation, teaching or related setting.
Preferred Experience:
  • Supervisory experience
  • Workforce development experience

Work Environment:
  • Work is generally confined to a standard office environment.
Physical Demands:

  • Visual capacity enabling constant use of computer or other work-related equipment.
