We are seeking two (2) full-time Geologists, Hydrogeologists, Environmental Engineers for our San Diego, CA operations.
The selected candidate will be responsible for working with, or leading, a team on a variety of environmental projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include project management, conducting environmental site assessments and investigations; completing soil borings and well installation on environmental projects, geologic logging, collection of soil, groundwater or soil vapor samples; analytical data evaluation and technical report writing.
Candidates may also be asked to travel 2-4 weeks at a time to assist with disaster recovery efforts nationwide if requests are received from various federal, state and local agencies.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience. The ideal candidate will also have:
Strong background in field sampling programs from planning through the execution and report development phases.
Experience in data management, evaluation and authoring portions of CERCLA/RCRA environmental documents.
Experience with federal projects and regulatory agencies a plus.
Experience with graphic presentation of data using GIS or other tools a plus.
Previous project management experience preferred.
In addition, this position requires the following:
You must be able drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
Passing a background check to access DOD facilities is required.
Degree / Certifications
BS degree in geology, hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) registration preferred.
Current OSHA 40-hour certification is required.
Work Environment
Approximately 10 to 20% field work. Extended periods of travel to project sites may be required. You must be able to:
Travel for up to 3 - 4 weeks at a time.
Travel, and work, on weekends, both Saturday and Sundays.
Work 10 - 12 hour days, 5 - 7 days per week.
Drive on a regular basis, you must have a valid driver's license.
Requires passing a motor vehicle record (MVR) background check and maintaining a safe driving record.
Heavy lifting of field sampling and other equipment, up to 35lbs, is required.
Candidate must also meet physical demands of hazardous waste site work.
Must be able to work out in the field in ALL weather conditions, in all seasons, including hot and cold weather, for long days, 10 - 12 hour days.
All work-related travel is reimbursable.
The Salary Range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
