Description

Assists in the supervision and implementation of the program provided through the activities of the Behavior Health Counselor by performing the follow duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain oversight of documentation requirements for all staff
  • Provides supervisory oversight to direct reports
  • Provides positive interactions with family members, guardians, and other professionals involved in the treatment process
  • Adheres to Handle with Care protocols for restrictive interventions (RIs); Monitors usage of RI among staff to identify trends, address any coaching needs, and identifies opportunities for clinical staffing.
  • Maintains the facility, ensuring supplies are available to meet basic and therapeutic needs of the client.
  • Maintains neat and kid friendly work area.
  • Ensures staff facilitates appropriate activities and clinical interventions according to the model of care
  • Ensures staff are compliant as it relates to completing of training requirements within specified timeframes and appropriate utilization of trained skills
  • Ensures staffing requirements are met and that timekeeping procedures are followed

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree required. Human service-relatedfield preferred.
  • Must meet the requirements of a Qualified Mental Health Professional.
  • Leadership experience preferred but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, governmental regulations, or legal documentation. Ability to write reports and business correspondence to a prescribed format and style. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of children, top managers, clients and families, volunteers, and the general public.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Competency is defined as the techniques, procedures, technology, skills or equipment needed to do one's job. The following competencies may be required of this position; Age specific competency for children and adolescents, competency in the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Life Saving / Safety to include First Aid and CPR; Working with Mental Health Population through utilization of TCI and Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) , Blood Borne Pathogens and Infection Control.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid NC or SC Driver's license.
