ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the GEI Director, the Senior Program Manager recruits international students and programs, develops program content, and takes care of program management and delivery. The incumbent recruits faculty and community presenters and oversees program evaluation and assessment.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
- Recruit international students for GEI programs, with a focus on increasing enrollment for Cal Poly English Language Institute (CPELI);
- Serves as a general liaison between agents, clients, and GEI; communicates with domestic and overseas universities, K-12 schools, agents, and professionals involved with GEI programs.
- Creates and designs new cutting-edge innovative programs such as teaching English as a second language training program.
- Develops materials and proposes content for training programs, visiting delegations, etc.
- Oversees day-to-day operations of CPELI programs including building relationships with agents and clients to ensure expectations are met.
- Manages all phases of GEI's programs including design, development, marketing, implementation, and evaluation with focus on CPELI in collaboration with other GEI team members.
- Collaborates with CPELI instructors and related stakeholders on English language and American culture-related programs, including CPELI accreditation, program development, student recruitment, housing arrangements and program evaluations.
- Oversees SEVIS advising CPELI students to make sure that they maintain legal status during the program.
- Oversees scheduling and all logistics for GEI programs including but not limited to arrangements for orientation, welcome/graduation ceremonies, cultural events, lodging, meals, local transportation, use of facilities, contacts with site visits and local businesses, K-12 schools, and other universities and colleges in the Los Angeles area.
- Oversees program content, screens instructors and interpreters (if needed), promptly communicates the program participants' specific needs to the instructors and provides excellent personalized customer services to ensure the high quality of the GEI programs.
- Researches and identifies topics for existing and future programs; writes, edits, and updates program outlines, presentations, itineraries, certificates, and information for electronic and print communication materials.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Will be responsible for supervision of Program Assistants.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree; and five years of experience in program development and/or international education.
- Demonstrated experience working with revenue generating programs, building and monitoring budgets with accuracy, and developing program outlines and proposals are a must.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents in a diverse environment; strong written, editing, and communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills are required with a focus on attention to details.
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Internet Explorer); demonstrated ability to work with other software systems and tools.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree.
- Project or program management certification.
- Leadership experience in academic, career, and professional development program administration.
- Program or Academic Marketing and Outreach.
