The Program Manager is a collaborative team member who provides advanced programmatic expertise for the division's activities associated with onboarding, professional development and team/department/division operations. The primary role for this position is to work closely with the Director and Program Director to enable efficient onboarding, development and retention of new and existing staff members; efficient oversight of team/department/division operations including management of division equipment and space allocation. The ideal candidate will have experience in all areas of fundraising operations, recruitment, onboarding, professional development, department or division operations and possess the ability to work across multiple units in a large and complex division.
This team member will manage the onboarding program, advise hiring managers and be a liaison with Human Resources in the onboarding process. The Program Manager will help create and implement educational and professional development initiatives across the division.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Leadership & Project Direction (50%)
Lead and direct projects for various team initiatives that improve performance or increase operational efficiencies.
- Drive the development and implementation of the divisional orientation and onboarding program
- Collaborate with hiring managers to create personalized orientation experiences for new employees, identify an onboarding partner for each new hire, and conduct regular check-ins with hiring managers and new staff to ensure onboarding milestones are met
- Identify resources and strategies to implement the learner's individualized plan
- Provide coaching and development for onboarding partners and hiring managers
- Develop onboarding curriculum and teach selected classes
Team Operations (25%)
Oversee team-level administrative processes and operation workflows (including system process design, implementation and evaluation), tracking of metrics and output reporting, budget compliance and training/continuing education of operations applications.
- Utilize technology to ensure efficient dissemination of onboarding resources and tracking of onboarding milestones
- Monitor compliance with onboarding training and institutional mandatory training via the Education Center and Smartsheet
- Manage the Hello with the CPO program
Department Business Operations (20%)
Management of department business operations which includes communication dissemination, budget planning and oversight, management of the accuracy and quality of program data.
- Oversee professional development resources including division memberships and subscriptions to optimize utilization by division staff
- Promote and track professional development opportunities
- Manage division space assignment and survey
- Manage division inventory and offsite agreements
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's degree.
Preferred: Master's degree in a related field.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Five years related experience to include three years program management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, three years of required experience.
Preferred: Experience in fundraising/non-profit/government agency, marketing, advertising or public relations, law, healthcare or related industry. Demonstrated experience synthesizing complex information and engaging stakeholders in complex strategy discussions. One year of supervisory experience.
