Armory (216 Fort Washington Avenue) $60000 - $70000/year Position Summary: Now in its 20th year at Children's Aid, Go!Healthy is a health promotion initiative that gets children and their families excited about eating healthy foods and provides families with the resources to live healthy, active lifestyles. Within the program sits Go!Healthy's SNAP-Ed activities, which deliver Nutrition Education workshops for youth and adults coupled with broader policy, systems, and environmental strategies for behavior change. The program has transformed sites throughout Children's Aid's target neighborhoods into hubs for healthy eating and living in the community.
The Program Manager for Nutrition Education is a supervisory role that leads Go!Healthy's SNAP-Ed Nutrition Education for youth and adults in after-school settings, community centers, early childhood centers, food distribution sites, and farmers markets. The Manager is responsible for helping a team of Nutritionists to implement SNAP-Ed-approved curricula by providing guidance, training, and feedback in order to ensure that they deliver engaging, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed Nutrition Education. Additionally, the Manager teaches their own nutrition and cooking education workshop series and sessions.
With the support and supervision of the Assistant Director of Food and Nutrition Programs, the Manager will contribute to Go!Healthy's reputation as a collaborative partner within Children's Aid and the communities we serve. They will do this by assessing the needs of our partner sites, coordinating nutrition workshop series, delivering impactful programming, and problem-solving on the ground. The position also works in close partnership with the Manager of SNAP-Ed PSE to couple nutrition and cooking education with our food access initiatives, which focuses on locally sourced produce.
The ideal candidate will be a bilingual educator (English/Spanish), as many of our program participants are native Spanish speakers, and enthusiastic about teaching their own workshops with youth and adults as well as supervising other Nutritionists. Responsibilities: Program Management Manage the implementation of nutrition and cooking education with youth and adults. Develop nutrition lesson and recipe calendars for youth and adult workshops across all sites.
Stay current on and incorporate Nutrition Education best practices. Teach in-person group series and sessions in school-based settings and in the community at food box distributions and farmers markets. Support and teach virtual nutrition and cooking workshops for program participants.
Coordinate with Children's Aid program partners and sites to determine needs, program plans, and opportunities for expansion of direct education activities. Plan and implement logistics including site locations, class selection, schedules, and staffing plan. Collaborate closely with the Assistant Director and Manager of SNAP-Ed PSE to integrate Nutrition Education into PSE activities such as the food box program that sells bags seasonal fruits and vegetables to the public.
Supervision Recruit, hire, supervise, and support Nutritionists in their implementation of Nutrition Education activities. Responsible for candidate recruitment, selection, performance evaluation, as well as ongoing compliance per agency and funder requirements. Hold regular supervision meetings.
Observe, coach, and work with staff to help them grow in their leadership and to strengthen program implementation. Assist with team building and ongoing development of a diverse, empowered, and goal-oriented team. Develop and implement trainings for program staff and partners.
Draft and maintain relevant policies and procedures and training documents. Operations and Administration Coordinate with the Assistant Director and Budget and Performance Manager to acquire, maintain, replenish, and store appropriate stock of program equipment, materials, and supplies according to the program budget. Manage content development for social media and participant communication according to the program's communication strategy.
Work closely with the Budget and Performance Manager to oversee and verify proper data collection in direct education activities. Implement own data entry and survey administration. Attend Go!Healthy meetings and trainings, and collaborate with the larger Go!Healthy team and program partners.
Additional job-related duties as relevant to support the Go!Healthy program and Children's Aid mission. Comply with all privacy laws including HIPAA, FERPA, etc. Qualifications: Education (Associates Degree or above) in nutrition, dietetics, community and behavioral health, health education, public health, or nursing.
Includes persons (though not required) certified as RD, RDN, CCN, CNS, and RN as well as other individuals with college level coursework in nutrition and/or health education with training and experience to communicate nutrition and obesity prevention topics. A minimum of three years of nutrition and cooking education experience with both youth and adults. Bilingual (written and oral) in English and Spanish is strongly preferred as many program participants are native Spanish speakers.

Experience and passion for connecting families to local, seasonal, and high-quality food through hands-on education. Direct supervisory experience or an ability to communicate their intent to successfully mentor, train, and supervise staff.
