Job description

This position will play a critical role in creating, planning, and further developing play opportunities for junior players in North Carolina.

What You'll Do:
This position will lead the Junior Team Tennis (JTT) Program and work as part of the Junior Team to administer other junior programs.

More specifically, you will:

  • Gain a thorough understanding of all programming in the junior pathway.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of all industry platforms (Tennis Link, Serve Tennis, MatchApp, etc.) in order to assist any stakeholders in its use.
  • Manage the Junior Team Tennis (JTT) Program
  • Organize and coordinate various aspects of the JTT State Championship.
  • Direct and supervise all JTT event staff and local league coordinators, offering continual support by phone, in person or virtual meetings and trainings.
  • Collaborate on the administration of Junior Tournaments, Junior Circuits, Team Challenges, and WTN Playdays.
  • Disseminate information on all updates on policies, procedures, rules and regulations from State, Section and National organizations.
  • Assist in special event planning. Examples include TEAM NC Camps, Play Days, Parent Education Trainings, and more.
  • Attend STA and NCTA meetings and any other meeting that would further develop tournament & junior pathway opportunities.
  • Innovate ways to attract and retain new players.

What You'll Need:
You will need to have exceptional organizational skills to keep up with the hundreds of Junior Pathway programs happening around the state. We do require that all of our team members complete the United States Olympic Committee’s Safe Sport Training within 45 days of hiring.

These skills and attributes are helpful as well:

  • Tennis experience and knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Special event or event planning experience Is advantageous.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with an enthusiastic personality and exemplary customer service skills.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to embrace a teamwork environment.
  • Ability to navigate and successfully execute work in Microsoft Office Suite products required, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to break down and execute complex tasks.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several projects concurrently.

There will be some evening and weekend work, but we have structured our office schedule to be mindful of that. The starting salary range for this position is $47-50K. Some Additional Information For You

Work Environment

This position operates in an office setting with routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. At times, this position requires work offsite at trainings, meetings, tournaments, and other special events. Weekend work is required from time to time, including for attendance at tournaments and events.

Physical Demands

While performing the essential duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen. The employee is required to stand and walk frequently. The employee needs to be able to lift 10-20 pounds. The physical demands described must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time non-exempt position. Typical days and core hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, but may require hours outside of the typical days and core business hours.

Travel

The position requires travel including but not limited to meetings, events, and workshops within the State of North Carolina as well as occasional out-of-state travel including nights and weekends.
