Primary Purpose
Responsible for setting up and operating power brake machines to bend, form, metal plates or sheet metal to specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Receives oral instructions from supervisor regarding parts, their location and job number.
2. Makes sure that all equipment is in safe operating condition, the area is clean from debree or any foreign objects, and all safety rules are followed. Reports to supervisor any safety abnormalities.
3. Selects positions and aligns dies to machine ram and bed, using shims, rule, square, templates or calipers.
4. Adjusts set specified pressure of ram and clearance between dies to thickness of metal, as indicated by calibrated scale.
5. Verifies dimensions of work piece using a template, scale, or blueprints.
6. Complete job cards daily.

Working Conditions
Standing up to 12 hours daily
Repeated reaching and twisting and intricate hand movements through entire shift.
Requires regular lifting and moving of materials up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move materials up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
Work in an environment that may have varying temperature and/or noise.
Will be required to wear the necessary protective equipment such as gloves, earplugs, back belt, safety glasses, etc.
Requires ability to stand, use fingers and hands to feel, touch and reach, hear, talk, and walk.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Press Brake Operator (Level 1): Requires the ability to learn and apply procedures to complete mostly routine tasks and/or assignments. Must be able to apply some judgment to complete fewer routine tasks/duties. Requires working from detailed instructions and participating in team efforts. The job specifications are normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma or equivalent experience and a minimum of 0 to 1 year of related experience.
