Strategic Planning (25%)
- Builds out the in alignment with MAB Senior Management and US Corporate Quality.
- Cascades, monitors and measures strategically aligned Quality and Food Safety objectives to entire Mark Anthony Brewing team.
- Performs internal and external benchmarking, analysis, target setting, and publishing of key performance indicators (KPIs) to support the business.
- Ensures Quality, Food Safety, GMP and HACCP requirements are implemented and have effectiveness validated at all MAB and Co-packer locations.
- Collaborates with all MAB Internal and External stakeholders to ensure all Food Safety project requirements are identified and implemented to support MAB consumer satisfaction and product speed to market.
- Manages Quality Systems to support MAB business needs. Systems included: ETQ, QAR, and LIMS.
Technical Functions (25%)
- Serves as internal expert on food safety including internal systems for traceability, industry trends and best practices, current/pending legislation, and the Code of Federal Regulations 21 CFR 117
- Ensures Corporate Quality support is available when and where required to support certifying body audits, vendor and customer audits, and customer service goals.
- Identifies and implements manufacturing process and Quality improvement opportunities.
- Develops and cascades US Quality policies, SOPs, and work instructions in collaboration with MAB Global Quality and Product Development teams.
- Ensures that MAB breweries Food Safety Programs are implemented and maintained according to GFSI Standards.
- Manages and maintains critical food safety documentation, records, and action logs; reviews this information to provide reports and recommendations to key stakeholders
Logistical Functions (20%)
- Participate in development and Quality support of autonomous working teams capable of managing the Quality and Food Safety performance during brewing and batching and packaging operations running on a 24/7 schedule.
- Proactively monitors QAR and LIMS data for MAB product regulatory compliance as well as monitoring and reporting on updates to FDA and CFIA requlations through newsletters and electronic message boards
- Develops and ensures compliance with all Food Safety related CCPs, Preventive Controls, Calibration and Maintenance requirements and performs GFSI readiness audits.
Team & Leadership Functions (30%)
- Collaborates with the breweries to build cross functional Food Safety teams to support long term requirements of the operations and provide training/oversight for team-based problem solving and risk analyses.
- Leverages understanding, Consolidates relevant food safety documentation or metrics/analytics from various points in the product supply chain; Creates, implements, and improves the brewery food safetyprogram with an eye towards simplicity and streamlined standard work for self and others
- Leverages knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry trends, brewery strategy, etc.tocreate, implement, and improve the brewery food safetyprogramwith an eye towards simplicity and streamlined standard work for self and others
- Facilitates involvement, momentum, and ownership of Quality Programs including GMPs and Food Safety with all personnel
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications, Education, & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or related field.
- Minimum 10 years progressive Quality experience in the Brewing industry.
- HACCP and/or PCQI Certifications
- Knowledge of brewing, blending, and packaging processes.
- Expert knowledge of ISO, GMP, and HACCP food safety as it relates to the manufacturing process
- Working knowledge of TTB requirements for alcoholic beverages including tax policy, state and federal regulations, SOP and COLA approvals.
Skills & Abilities
- Proven ability to manage and implement Quality Program requirements including regulatory compliance and Food Safety.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time.
- Thorough understanding of cleaning and sanitation technology.
- Proficient in the identification, management and resolution of risk relating to raw materials, ingredients, processes and products, and willingness to proactively take necessary precautions to minimize risk.
- Effective business systems thinker and a good understanding of business process knowledge.
- Effective leadership and strategic influencing skills.
- Results oriented individual with a desire to manage change through to fruition.
- Demonstrated ability to work across functions, business units and geographies.
- Exceptional communication skills: interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills for both internal and external purposes
- Proficient with personal computers and Quality related business applications such as EtQ, QAR, and LIMS.
