Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment or possess a valid compact license OR
- Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved LPN/LVN program
- Must have a currently active, unencumbered and unexpired Licensed Practical Nurse License for the state of employment
- Plans, schedules and implements the activities, for a seven day week program schedule, using creativity and available resources
- Develops and posts calendar of events for the community
- Organizes and/or conducts shopping trips, crafts activities, and film/slide presentations
- Arranges for resident parties and entertainment
- Promotes participation and resident interaction by developing an understanding of the residents’ preferences, individual resident interest and abilities
- Arranges for religious observances and/or in-house services
- Coordinates the development of the in house newsletter with input from residents, employees and guests
- Assists in orienting new residents to the community by introducing them to staff members, and other residents
- Develops a hospitality committee of residents based on needs of community
- Works with marketing/management to develop community outreach programs for resident involvement
- Plans events and decorations for holidays
- Interviews new residents to assess their preferences for community activities and outside interests
- Facilitates monthly resident community meetings
- Operates the program services department in a cost effective manner adhering to department budgeting guidelines, goals and established parameters
