SUMMARY OF DUTIES
The Program Director is primarily responsible for overseeing the operations of the programs. It involves overseeing and managing initiatives aimed at preventing and addressing programmatic needs. The Program Director plans, organizes, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates services.
The Program Director is responsible for ensuring that referrals are promptly addressed, caseloads are managed properly, and program goals are achieved. The Program Director plans, organizes, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the services provided. In addition, the Program Director supervises program staff and provides direct service backup as needed.
The responsibilities of the Program Director include developing and implementing programs that aim to prevent and intervene. This involves working closely with stakeholders such as government agencies, community organizations, and law enforcement to assess the needs of the community and plan effective programs. Additionally, the Program Director provides strategic direction and vision for the programs.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Master's Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency in social work, psychology or related field.
- Master's Degree from a nationally accredited university as a behavior analyst, marriage and family therapist, mental health counselor, psychologist, social worker, school psychologist, or psychiatric nurse. LSW, LCSW, LMFT preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- 4 years relevant experience
- 12+ years post-master's experience
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
This position requires prior experience in working with at risk youth and families. The role involves overseeing the daily operations of the programs. This position may have oversight on 24/7 programs, the selected candidate must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights and weekends. It is essential to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism. Experience in managing multiple priorities is also a must-have. Moreover, good written and verbal communication skills are essential.

The Program Director plays a critical role in advocating for the rights and safety of individuals and working towards creating a safer and more supportive community.
OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- This position requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and use of agency and/or personal vehicle to transport participants, as needed, as well as a willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island. Continued employment may be contingent on maintaining a clear driver's abstract.
- The nature of this position requires the incumbent to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions.
- Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of CPI classes OR other Behavioral Management certification as may be contract-mandated.
