We are now hiring for a full-time Program Coordinatorto join our Blue Island/Merrionette Park Team!
SALARY: Compensation is commensurate with years of related experience, position requirements, and candidate qualifications. The average salary for the position is $60,000.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Takes a leadership role or works within collaborative to develop and implement initiatives that strengthen and support families and communities.
- Promotes a better understanding of families, their needs, the community, and its needs through media or other forums.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a local-level component of the comprehensive strategic plan for developing, implementing, and sustaining BIRNN infrastructure and activities.
- Participates in establishing and maintaining the organizational structure of BIRNN.
- Provide leadership in all local facets of the Neighborhood Network efforts, including guiding the establishment of interagency collaborations with other community-based stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain a data tracking system. Submit reports and other materials to the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago and BIRNN as expected to meet required grant evaluation and reporting criteria.
- Recruit, convene and ensure committee engagement of the BIRNN All Partners group.
- Hire and supervise MFS staff assigned to BIRNN. Provide staff development opportunities and oversight of volunteers.
- Develops and maintains contacts with community groups relating to BIRNN needs; participates in collaboration with other community stakeholders to further the mission, vision and goals of the BIRNN.
- Establish and promote network visibility of the BIRNN and the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago in appropriate external and internal marketing and communication efforts.
- Serve as primary liaison between United Way of Metropolitan Chicago and the BIRNN. Facilitate and/or communicate in a timely manner concerns and challenges.
- Works effectively with diverse staff and service populations.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, required. Master's Degree, preferred.
- 5-7 years of related work experience managing nonprofit partnerships, community engagement, needs assessment and outreach work, required.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation), ability to think strategically and translate and implement plan in action.
- Demonstrated experience in mobilizing service systems, management, policy analysis, and strategic thinking.
- Leadership experience in working with community and institutional partners.
- Must have access to a vehicle, valid driver's license and proof of insurance to perform essential job functions, required.
- Employment with MFS requires proof of vaccination or an approved Medical exemption, required.
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships.
- Ability to work with individuals and groups in a culturally and linguistically competent manner.
- Ability to organize, coordinate, and leads diverse people into effective committees and task forces.
- Knowledge of grant management and implementation.
- Ability to monitor and assess efficiency and effectiveness of the implementation of services to children and families, including identifying and resolving problems in program operations.
- Proven experience mobilizing sustainable, community-wide engagement efforts in the health and human services arena for low income.
- Demonstrate supervisory/managerial experience with an increased level of responsibility.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- MFS staff are required to provide proof of vaccination or have an approved Medical exemption prior to starting employment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch.
- The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
