The WIC Program Assistantjoins the team at WIC (Women, Infant and Children) - a program partner of GSCH. WIC is housed at Goodwin Community Health in Somersworth, NH. Goodwin belongs to GSCH's network of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) delivering clinical and nonclinical services to vulnerable populations in Southeastern New Hampshire and Southern Maine.
Being the WIC Program Assistant means that you will coordinate participant intake, assist with verification and certification of WIC participant enrollment, and work one-on-one with participants to educate and explain food benefits at follow-up nutrition appointments and certification appointments. The WIC Program Assistant will report to WIC at Goodwin on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The Program Assistant will be expected to self-transport to WIC satellite sites on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Satellite sites are located in Tamworth, Conway, North Conway, and Wolfeboro. Paid travel time and partial mileage reimbursement. Job Duties:
- Coordinate participant intake
- Assist with verification and certification of participant enrollment
- Work one-on-one with participants to educate and explain food benefits at follow-up nutrition appointments and certification appointments
- Provide second nutrition education contact when applicable
- Support office operations including photocopying, filing and preparing documents, covering reception desk when directed
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm participant appointments; coordinate patient follow-up
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of WIC clinics as directed

- Education: High school diploma or GED
