Purpose of Role

Our Innovation Performance Wear Testing team plays an important role in the development of Under Armour’s innovative products. By evaluating product on athletes in various activities and settings, this team gathers and assesses the data necessary to identify concerns, validate performance attributes, and provide key insights for product improvement.

As the Field Testing Analyst, you will recruit and work directly with athletes to distribute test samples (footwear, apparel, and accessories), collect performance feedback and report findings from the field. Sometimes working outside of the typical sport season, this role requires creativity in connecting with athletes all year long.

Your Impact

  • Influence Product Creation with Field Testing results to create products rooted in decisions based on performance testing, and data, across multiple categories (run, train, outdoor, etc)

  • Gain and grow additional testing community contacts for necessary projects across end-uses.

  • Participate in the development of new tools, methods and procedures that will streamline data acquisition and analysis.

  • Lead data collection and reporting process

  • Collaborate with external assets (testers, consultants, facilities, coaches, athletes, cendors etc.) and internal teams including (Development, Design, Biomechanics, Consumer Insights, Factory Partners, Inline Teams, etc.) throughout the testing and commercialization process.

  • Explore athlete insights and authenticate athlete performance benefits

  • Facilitate and collaborate on product validation and testing

  • Act as a Brand Ambassador with our testing community and assets

  • Participate in the broader UA Testing and Innovation community.

Qualifications

  • A passion for performance, technical fabrics, and apparel/footwear

  • Expert ability to take complex data and write test results in a clear, concise manner that product teams can use to build ground-breaking products

  • Ability to conduct research, including collecting, recording, and analyzing sensory and mechanical data in an unbiased, objective manner.

  • Desire and ability to take risks, and to take responsibility for results – must be a finisher. Strong intuition to find and solve problems using both consumer insight and design thinking.

  • Excellent Mac or PC computer skills. Other computer skills a plus: Microsoft Office, spreadsheet, database and statistical software

  • Must be creative, detail oriented, able to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to successfully meet multiple deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore, MD, or IMG Academy (Orlando) o ffice.

  • Return to Work Designation: 3days week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.

  • Travel: Minimal

Base Compensation

$69,283.00 - $95,264.40 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
