Medical Assistant

AiLife Diagnostics is a CLIA/CAP certified laboratory that does genetic testing and performs molecular diagnostic testing for human genetic disorders. Qualified personnel are responsible for a variety of technical, clerical, receptionist, and patient care services under the supervision of the Administrative/Clinical Laboratory Manager. Daily duties to include but not limited to specimen processing, uploading samples and other administrative duties.

JOB SUMMARY:

• Follows the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing.
• Receives, cross-checks and uploads patient samples into LIM system and verifies patient information and demographics.

• Performs patient’s sample accession.

• Administers sample collections.
• Medical billing and coding.
• Medical insurance credentialing.
• Patient scheduling.
• Answers telephone calls, returns messages and routes to appropriate personnel.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or higher with one to two years of experience working in a medical or healthcare setting preferable but willing to train.
• Ability to communicate effectively, bilingual preferred (Spanish).
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and must be able to multi-task.
• Outstanding knowledge in using a computer, scanner, printer, telephone, fax, and copier.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and the general public.
• Excellent telephone skills.
• Team player and have a positive and professional attitude.
