2nd Shift: 3:45pm-2:15am Monday through Thursday
Pay: $25.32 plus a $1.00 shift differential!
Job purpose
Responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and adjusting product and equipment, i.e. robots, gang saw, cross cut saw, trim saw, conveyors and packaging equipment. May also assist with attaching labels, gluing slats to bundles, and loading machines. Review product for general defects in material and communicates quality issues during the production run. Also responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and professional appearance of the production area.
Duties and responsibilities
- Operates and controls production equipment to ensure efficiency
- Ensures dry end packaging area and dust collection equipment is maintained throughout the shift
- Start up and shut down of production equipment
- Inputs production run data into the computers controlling the various pieces of equipment according to the production schedule
- Maintains an uninterrupted supply of bags, labels, and other consumables to the equipment in area
- Cut and glue slats
- Measure bundle heights, board lengths, widths, and diagonals
- May move product using mobile equipment as required
- Clean, organize, and dispose of all waste, during and at the end of shift
- Monitoring and reporting in-process quality observations to other production teammates
- Meet quality control (QC) objectives
- Perform line driven safety (LDS)
- Maintain 5S in the assigned area
- May reload and maintain machines
- Adjust/set saws, set up Robot stackers, use table saw, set perforator
- Assist with product changeovers
- Assist with production paperwork and training of new hires as applicable
- General housekeeping duties
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic maintenance, mechanical, math, and communication skills
- Forklift operator experience preferred
Working conditions
The working conditions include an indoor noisy, dusty non-air-conditioned industrial manufacturing and warehouse environment. Subject to varying cold and hot temperatures and occasional outdoor activities in hot or adverse weather. PPE required.
Physical requirements
- Be able to communicate clearly with all employees
- Must be able to lift up 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift between 10-50 pounds approximately 60% of the time
- Must be able to bend/reach/twist/stoop approximately 25% of the time
- Be able to sit and stand approximately 50% of the day
