Overview
This individual will report to the Night Shift manager and will be responsible for planning and directing the work of production associates. The Production Supervisor will participate in safety and quality initiatives, monitor production schedules, and provide coaching and feedback to associates to ensure job requirements are met and performance is optimum. Production supervisors are also responsible for recording the department's operational indicators.
Essential Functions
- Plan and direct the work of associates based on production needs.
- Participate in safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment. Focusing on incident and accident reduction through identification and recording of first aid, near misses, and behavior-based observations.
- Ensure the quality of the product at all stages of the manufacturing process.
- Ability to understand and monitor production schedules and required build rates.
- Address potential bottlenecks and allocation of resources as necessary.
- Drive and support continuous improvement throughout the department.
- Provide coaching and feedback to production associates to ensure job requirements are met and performance is optimum.
- Evaluate staffing needs and participate in the selection and training of new co-workers.
- Responsible for daily recording of department operational indicators including production first pass yield, time charges, and out of stocks.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required.
- Work history in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience. Assembly operations-based experience is strongly preferred.
