Production Supervisor
Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities for a segment within the industrial, specialty and medical distribution and gas filling operations at our Riverside location.
Essential Responsibilities:
- This hands-on position assists with managing all gas cylinder processing, and compliance with all Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other business-related compliance activities.
- Responsible for the safe operation and troubleshooting/guidance on operations and equipment.
- Report to Plant Director to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Promotes a strong safety and compliance culture correcting unsafe acts or conditions without delay and enforcing safety regulations.
- Assigns task to workers according to customers' needs, current stock levels and worker's expertise.
- Understand production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, and changes working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Oversees new hire training and cross trains employees to continue production during personnel shortages or may fill- in as needed.
- Maintain stocking levels of finished product and raw materials to ensure production requirements and lead times are achieved.
- Monitor and schedule raw material deliveries as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring the proper appearance, image, and security of the facility and equipment.
- Support employees in career development and growth opportunities.
- Supervise personnel on a fair and consistent basis to help foster an atmosphere where employees are motivated, informed, and empowered to do their jobs.
- Manage employee activities in conjunction with company policies and procedures.
- Effectively conduct accident/incident investigations in accordance with company policy.
- Timely and accurate completion of all required reports, which may include product inventory, cylinder inventory, expense reports, financial reports, KPI reports, payroll, Work Orders, etc.
- Complete performance reviews prior to the employee’s merit review date.
- Support inter-company and route truck distribution of products to help ensure efficient, timely, accurate, and professional delivery.
- Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
- Assist in implementation of Standard Operating Procedures as required or as revisions or changes are made.
- Monitor asset usage and recommend cylinder purchases and/or increases to inventory as business demands change.
- Conduct monthly safety meetings as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school degree/GED required.
- Prefer prior technical experience with compressed gases, gas analysis and gas lab equipment.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of how to leverage metrics and related tools to improve production efficiency and effectiveness.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and move up to 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
- Communication skills that ensure a smooth flow of information between self and others through clear speaking and writing, encouragement of open expression of ideas, and effective listening
- Self-starter; self-motivated; well organized; ability to work independently.
- Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees.

Pay: $67,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
