CO-PACK PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the Co-Pack Operation through the

communication and delivery of established goals and objectives. While maintaining effective

work processes, this position will also be responsible for the development of employees while

monitoring their performance. This position also has functional responsibility for productivity,

KPI’s , maintaining the daily operations and driving continuous improvement.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise daily work assignments and follow up on the delivery of the expected performance

results including:

Responsible for all facets of the Co-Packing operation on all shifts:

• Schedule the correct number of staff by shift to ensure production goals are met within

the budgeted cost structure.

• Set up work for the next shift to ensure a seamless transition. Complete shift briefing

template to ensure the effective communication of relevant information to all employees.

• Assign and follow up with operators and production staff on the length of time required

for tasks to be completed by noting tasks assignments and communicating approximate

time of completion,

• Monitor schedules with the Order Management group, Operations supervisors and the

Client, to ensure the sequences of orders are picked based on priority shipments and

priority customers therefore reducing extensive waiting times for drivers, RUSH loads

and late deliveries,

• Hold Team Leaders accountable for ensuring proper co-packing procedures are

followed and that all production meets or exceeds Client’s quality standards.

• Flag priority orders and revise schedules to meet outbound orders.

• Place orders/maintain component stock levels to coincide with production schedules.

• Ensure customer specific requirements are met.

• monitor and manage workload levels and availability of equipment,

• Assess and determine overtime requirements on a timely basis to ensure an effective

transitions from shift to shift, while meeting budgeted costs.

• Communicate and cooperate with Operations and Order Management teams on a

regular basis to ensure overall building priorities are met. Act as an additional

supporting resource to the other departments.

• Create and maintain an environment that promotes positive communication while

fostering teamwork within the facility and the company.

• Monitor, analyze and report daily/weekly departmental performance through effective

KPI tracking and data collection for respective shift.

• Maintain accurate daily and weekly timekeeping and attendance records to ensure

proper payment of employee and temporary employee payroll submissions for

respective shift.

• Health & Safety management –

• ensure operation procedures, equipment & facilities are in compliance with company

policies & legislative requirements,

• Take a proactive approach to Health and Safety to promote accident avoidance.

• Hold operators accountable for the completion and filing of MHE safety inspection

forms to ensure all obligations are met.

• Provide daily feedback to employees through coaching and administer performance

appraisals. Handle all disciplinary situations appropriately and in a timely manner with

appropriate supporting documentation.

• Maintain close interaction with customers to develop strong relationships while

assessing service requirements; communicate where appropriate.

• Manage cost control by adhering to customer contracts & billing for extra services as

outlined.

• Strive for continuous improvement by soliciting employee suggestions and feedback

and making recommendations.

• Assist in the development of facility goals and strategies to support the overall business

plan.

• Implement and actively champion compliance with company policies & procedures.

• Assumes additional related responsibilities as required.

EDUCATION:

• Minimum College diploma in business management with focus in logistics management

EXPERIENCE:

• Five (5) years production and Co-packing experience (some 3PL experience would be

an asset)

• Three (3 years of supervisory experience (preferably in the co-packing industry)

• Thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures

• Service oriented with strong customer interaction skills and commitment

• Ability to make sound decisions independently to obtain desired results

• Strong interpersonal skills and a proven leadership ability within a solid team

environment

• Able to create own control tools through effective M.S. software applications knowledge

primarily in excel & word

• Analytical skills with familiarity of financial report
