The Role:
Manage the assigned shift packaging operations and personnel. Coordinate production/schedule requirements with Team Leader, Making. Insure compliance with all OSHA regulations, FDA regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices. Meet quality production requirements in a safe, efficient and timely manner. Develop an effective Packaging staff and organization Together with packaging manager identify solutions for future production requirements on assigned shift.
This is a 3rd shift role 10:30pm - 6:30am
What you will do:
- Insure the safe, efficient and effective utilization of packaging personnel, equipment and financial resources.
- Insure compliance with all FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices and Quality Assurance Standards.
- Evaluate current operations and provide suggestions for continuous improvement to safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate, coach, and mentor assigned shift packaging staff.
- Identify, write and obtain approval for all required departmental Standard Operation Procedures and Work Instructions. Audit and update current SOP's and WI's as required by Company policy.
- Complete and maintain 100% compliance with all training requirements for assigned shift packaging team.
- Perform additional job duties as assigned.
What you will need:
- Engineering or Business Management Bachelor Degree preferred or equivalent experience/training.
- 1+ years Manufacturing environment preferably in packaging environment.
- 1+ years Personnel Administration.
- 1+ years Packaging or Project Engineer (preferred).
- Strong Leadership and Decision Making Skills.
- Working Knowledge of Performance Metrics.
- Basic electrical or mechanical troubleshooting skills preferred.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must be proficient with using a computer.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Ability to climb, bend and crouch.
- Good Team Work skills, attention to detail, strict adherence to all trained procedures and embrace Safety and Quality awareness.
- Flexibility to work different shift or hours.
A reasonable pay range is $65,000 - $75,000
