- Lead plant or shift production workers
- Directs and coordinates activities associated with the department or shift production, including scheduling adequate staff to operate the line
- Supervise all plant safety rules and regulations and provide safety orientation and training
- Enforce compliance
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, creating an atmosphere of fairness, employee engagement and accountability
- Employee development and annual performance reviews to prepare them for future career opportunities or additional responsibilities at Independent Stave Company
- Document incident, disciplinary action, accident/injury reports when needed
- Assist in developing job procedures
- Inspect material for quality defects
- Assist in the training of new team members. Develop a training plan for all production positions and ensure that employees are trained properly in any area that they are assigned
Production Supervisor Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or GED required
- Experience: 2-4 years of supervisory, management, or team lead experience
- Apply principles of logical thinking to define the problem, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Some relevant manufacturing experience or board knowledge of production planning process
- Ability to coach, mentor, and inspire your team and co-workers
- Ability to troubleshoot processes and equipment
- Computer literacy
- Take the initiative to get things done
- Ability to deal with tasks or issues in a fast-paced environment
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
