Production Manager

SUMMARY:
The Production Manager will plan, direct, or coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
• Direct or coordinate production, processing, or distribution activities of production.
• Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
• Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
• Hire, train, supervise, evaluate staff, work with HR to resolve personnel grievances.
• Review, adjust, and verify employee timecards and time off requests.
• Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports to detect production problems.
• Prepare and maintain production reports.
• Review plans and confer with research or support staff to develop new products or processes.
• Maintain current knowledge of the quality control field, relying on current literature pertaining to materials use, technological advances, or statistical studies.
• Coordinate or recommend procedures for facility or equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.
• Work with Safety Manager to Conduct site audits to ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
• Develop or enforce procedures for normal operation of manufacturing systems.
• Implement operational and emergency procedures.
• Respond to emergencies to provide assistance.
• Maintain records to demonstrate compliance with safety and environmental laws, regulations, or policies.
• Optimize operational costs and productivity consistent with safety and environmental rules and regulations.
• Prepare reports on operations and system productivity or efficiency.

• Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
• Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is mostly outdoors during all weather conditions, with some indoor work. Work is performed around moving machinery and equipment, noise levels vary depending on what equipment is being worked around such as: Gas/Air/Electric pumps, forklifts, ladders, hoses, tractors, sky trek, skyjack, catwalks, general hand tools, agitators, mixers, scales, pH meters, specific gravity cups, valves, camlock couplers, y-strainers, sweecos, and decanters.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
• Must be able to lift 10 pounds at time
• Able to travel as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Associate degree or higher in Operations, Manufacturing Engineering; or 4 plus years' experience in agricultural related production operations and management.
• Experience with production processes, manufacturing equipment, and chemical batch manufacturing.
• CPR/First Aid Certificate required or obtained within 60 days of employment.
