JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary function of the Production Manager is to lead and take responsibility for the processes, people, and results associated with the efforts. As a visible leader, and subject matter expert, the incumbent will demonstrate leadership in all areas of Productions activities including but not limited to; Grind, Butchers, and Packaging processes, product knowledge, product offerings, training and development activities, ERP functions, and Foods Safety/Quality assurance.
This leadership role is very “hands-on” with a strong focus on product, process, KPI’s, team member engagement, and strategic department growth initiatives, as well as a consistent and thorough, oversight of all department reporting activities.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
•Fully and Completely Manage direct reports.
•Actively engaged in cross-functional efforts ensuring all departments are informed about, and confident in, production related processes.
•Ensure order fill rate on all products meets/exceeds established levels
•Manage efforts to ensure production KPI’s meet/exceeds “expected” standards. · Correct root cause challenges with all KPI’s in a timely, effective, and complete manner
•Ensure quality of product and packing specifications are met.
•Manage all aspects of department people development and retention, and ensure processes and knowledge are always conducive to safe, efficient, and effective manufacturing of all products.
•Review, approve, and take-action on daily KPI reporting details.
•Ensure the Production departments are consistently focused on food safety awareness and that regularly scheduled training courses with QA team are scheduled and executed.
•Manage production schedule on daily and weekly needs.
•Lead effort to ensure “pride in workmanship” culture and promote as best-in- class approach.
•Actively manage product yields vs targets and provide coaching opportunities when needed.
•Represent Production team in weekly leadership meetings as well as other leadership functions.
•Lead preparation and delivery of Performance improvement plans as needed in partnership with Sr. leadership and HR team.
•Schedule all production associates based on “resource vs need” approach.
•Own Production Department P&L, including managing all Labor and Expenses associated with department.
•Perform duties to SQF (Safe Quality Food) level 2 standards and requirements. · Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), policies and procedures.
•Understand and complete your responsibilities under Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
•Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the position and/or task.
•Investigate any accidents, incidents, near misses immediately. File incident/accident reports as required.
•Maintain a clean and organized work area.
•Work within established safe work practices, policies, and procedures with a lens toward continuous improvement.
Education, Training and Skills Required:
•College Degree or minimum 5 years production team management experience, preferably in beef processing or other protein processing
•Experienced in large and small company settings; experience and understanding of smaller company growth opportunities and expectations.
•"Low ego" personality; highly developed teamwork and partnership skills; able to develop successful relationships with varying personalities and functions.
•Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, independently, and as part of a team.
•Attracted to, and able to manage, a high volume of work and continuous flow of new challenges/ changes.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $78,892.50 - $100,000.00 per year
