Position Summary:
The Production Manager is actively involved in day-to-day production and is a direct, hands-on contributor in the process. This position also ensures that manufacturing equipment functions properly and increases the company’s efficiencies. Other responsibilities include developing production schedules, inventory and maintenance of the company’s manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on, all steps of production process (SMT, Reflow, Solder, Program and Test, Boxing).
- Manage and schedule employees working in production and expand staff.
- Schedule machines, production runs.
- Obtain quotes, order and receive materials and components, with adequate lead time; conduct inventory management and reconcile IMS.
- Work with sales and shipping to maintain required stock at all levels of inventory.
- Perform receiving, IMS entry, labeling and tracking.
- Perform repairs, maintenance and maintain supplies.
- Support design for manufacturability.
- Plan and prepare for expansion, add capabilities and processes.
- Ensure safety standards are met.
- Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of production operations.
- Develop workflow procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
- Prepare cost reports for production.
- Schedule and divide responsibilities and tasks across the team.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in same or related area, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent organizational skills including the ability to plan, organize and assign relevant tasks and duties to others.
- Leadership skills to train and guide staff.
- Prior experience with hands-on electronic production.
- Experience using automated equipment such as pick and place.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to perform tasks at all levels and steps in the process.
