Job Description
- The Production Manager oversees all facets of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and morale for multiple production lines during 2nd Shift. Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, this role supervises a team comprising 4 Team Leaders, 2 Supervisors, and up to 75 operators and general laborers. The position necessitates active involvement in operational activities, often requiring extended hours in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate exhibits proficiency in both manufacturing and technical leadership roles.
- Serve as a Safety advocate, demonstrating a Safety-First mindset, and actively eliminate risk across all operations.
- Champion Quality standards, ensuring adherence to principles of Quality Assurance in all operations, including preparation and participation in audits.
- Collaborate with the Director of Manufacturing to devise and implement operations strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Audit line costs and devise strategies to align spending with budgetary constraints.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively across multiple shift operations to ensure employee alignment.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis of persistent issues and oversee corrective actions.
- Lead projects aimed at enhancing key company metrics.
- Manage and maintain assets to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide leadership during facility emergencies, initiating appropriate measures and engaging upper management as necessary.
- Support employee training and development to foster factory growth and operational efficiency.
- Foster a positive work environment emphasizing safety, housekeeping, and human relations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing Operations or a related field, or a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including openness to feedback, eagerness to learn and grow, and self-awareness.
- Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action within a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with Engineering process controls, Statistical Process Controls, and line integration techniques.
- Proficient in tracking and reporting Factory metrics, budgets, and estimates.
- Experience leading projects/programs in a team environment.
