General Job Description
Dogwood Industries LLC is seeking a Production Foreman to join our manufacturing team in Sedro-Woolley, WA. The successful candidate will have foreman experience in steel fabrication and will be highly capable in directing crew members through the fabrication process. The Production Foreman must be able to read and understand shop drawings and welding procedures and be experienced in the use of typical shop equipment and tools. The Production Foreman will develop and implement processes to perform work efficiently, such as building jigs or improved tooling. The Production Foreman will be responsible to meet production goals and execute work plans to produce a quality end product, free of defects.
Duties & Responsibilities
The core mission of the Production Foreman is to efficiently and accurately direct the fabrication of metal assemblies across multiple departments to include steel fabrication, flashing/sheet metal, and assembly in the manufacture of custom prefabricated structures and custom components in a factory environment. The Production Foreman is responsible for production outcome, production processes, crew direction, adherence to quality control hold points and safety of crew members for the fabrication operation.
Essential Duties
Work Planning and Crew Leadership:
• Reviews prints and drawings and clarifies areas of concern
• Collaborates with Superintendent and Quality Assurance Manager to establish production goals
• Organizes work areas and work effort to improve productivity
• Establishes processes, jigs and tooling to achieve efficiency in work plan
• Assigns the correct personnel to the task
• Guides, coaches and trains to achieve the best output from each crew member
• Adapts to change when unforeseen conditions require adjustments to work plan and schedule
• Contract review
• Review job budgets
• Review employee timecards
• Review / complete weekly reporting
• Facilitate daily production meetings
Quality Assurance :
• Directs workers to adhere to hold points and take ownership for quality work product
• Proactively catches and eliminates quality issues before they impact schedule
• Takes corrective action to resolve quality issues
Safety and Cleanliness :
• Maintains safe, clean and orderly work environment
Stops unsafe work activities and corrects hazards
Requirements
Requirements
- 5+ years as a Foreman or similar position
- Understanding of and experience with weld processes and codes
- Ability to utilize jigs and fixtures where appropriate
- Ability to sequence work steps for proper fitting and welding
- Ability to plan weld sequences to minimize distortion and direct post weld straightening, if needed
- Ability to direct the operation of non-specialized metal working equipment
- Understanding of visual inspection criteria
- Fluency in English is required
- General capability in computer applications is desirable
Qualifications
• Hands on experience in fabrication.
• Previous foreman experience in a fabrication operation.
• High school diploma, general education degree or vocational degree.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and shop drawings.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
This position requires moderate physical activity in a manufacturing and office environment. To perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is frequently seated at a computer desk, is utilizing a cell phone, and participating in meetings with colleagues. Walking extended distances from location to location in the factory complex and meeting with people in noisy or congested areas will be a common occurrence. The employee must be able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 40 pounds of weight throughout assigned workday if required. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors.
Compensation
$ 40.86 - $ 48.07 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications.

This position is based out of the Dogwood Factory Office at 500 Metcalf St, Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284. Remote/hybrid options are not available, at this time.
