Production Foreman

Job Summary
Production Foreman, responsible for the safe and efficient operations of either the converting machines or the corrugator machines. Will have supervisors who report to and are directed by this position.

• Responsible for performance of Corrugator Supervisors (if Corrugator Foreman otherwise Converting Supervisors if Converting Foreman) and the overall safe and efficient operation of the machine centers
• Make necessary recommendations to the Operations Manager for positive changes regarding personnel
• Maintain proper operation of the waste water system and the baler (Corrugator Foreman). Maintain proper operation of the WIP lines and the ink kitchen (Converting Foreman)
• Establish high morale throughout your staff by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problems
• Maintain confidentiality
• Assist the Plant Scheduler in such a manner to fill the requirements of the customer and keep costs at a minimum level
• Oversee inventories of roll stock and corrugator supplies (Corrugator Foreman). Converting Foreman would oversee inventories of consumables used in the Converting Machine Centers
• Responsible for maintenance work performed on the machine centers
• Work with staff, upper management, and other leaders to develop and maintain methods of operation, including necessary departmental training
• Enforce corrective action procedures when applicable and conduct meetings with the violating employees and union representative
• Improve career skills by enrolling yourself in seminars, technical courses, and related college courses
• Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including safety program, SKOPE, Controllable Waste, Quality and good housekeeping
• Visit the work area frequently to ensure compliance and discusses safety issues with team. Explains to team that safety excellence is expected and is a requirement of employment. Encourages the team to report incidents, near-misses and unsafe conditions. SKNA employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Demonstrated personnel supervisory skills
• Five years' direct corrugator manufacturing experience with two years as supervisor
• Clear, concise oral and written English communication skills
• College and/or related technical courses, preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced excel), Microsoft Dynamics AX (preferred)
• Self-motivated and committed individual, strong work ethic
• Excellent analytical skills, methodical approach and commercial acumen

To successfully perform the essential functions of this role it requires the ability to: stand occasionally, walk frequently, frequent use of hands (reach with hands and arms), view computer monitor, use telephone, speak and listen frequently. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will encounter noise level typical of that of an office with computers, phones, printers, and light traffic. May encounter frequent interruptions throughout the day. May be required to work in a confined area and sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
