Job Summary:
Grayson Mill Energy is seeking a self-driven, commercially minded, and results-oriented Production Engineer. This Engineer will be responsible for production optimization and well profitability through production evaluations and cost analysis. Individual needs a strong background in artificial lift (Rod Pump, ESP, Gas Lift, and Jet Pump) and field operations including facility operations, well intervention, and workover. The position reports to the Production Engineering Manager and will be based in Houston, TX (77002).
Level and salary commensurate with background and experience- so the below range is ONLY a guesstimate.
Relocation may be considered.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform well analysis to maintain/optimize production through monitoring production trends, SCADA data, and downtime review
- Provide economic analysis for workover and capital expenditures/projects
- Design and troubleshoot artificial lift systems (Rod Pump, ESP, Gas Lift, and Jet Pump) and create workover and intervention programs to return wells to production
- Work with Workover & Facilities teams to identify, evaluate, and recommend cost reduction, reliability, and/or debottlenecking projects (rate-adding projects)
- Perform project analysis and provide lookback summaries on project performance
- Coordinate with other Production Engineers and share guidance / provide input in the development of core business activities, such as artificial lift systems, monitoring, and optimization
- Provide technical support and management of the production chemical program and root cause failure analysis
- Support other departments with technical analytics and opinions. Provide support with procurement activities including vendor business reviews, requests for proposal (RFP), and performance feedback
- Support the AL tech team with well optimization and troubleshooting
- Leasehold retention for assigned well set
- Ability to provide after-hours support as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (PE, Mechanical, Chemical)
- 3-10 years of experience in petroleum engineering (salary and expectations commensurate with experience - listed range is only guesstimates)
- Experience in unconventional assets, experience in Williston Basin is highly preferred but we will consider other cold basin experience
- Willing to travel up to 30% of the time
- Experience with Rodstar, OpenWells, Sportfire, Aries, XSPOC, Cygnet preferred
- Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials or computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Ability to type at rates greater than 45 words per minute.
