Tesla is looking for a Process Engineer Data Analytics to join the Material Handling team at Gigafactory Texas (GFTX). The successful candidate has broad experience working cross-functionally with multiple departments such as IT, Supply Planning, Operations and Finance to solve challenging problems and system limitations impacting productivity. They will configure, troubleshoot and analyze various software’s integral to sustaining operations, continuous improvements, and major program and process launches. There will also be a need to train new team members and work with the software development team to communicate issues and drive functionality improvements.
- Attend daily department start up meetings to report on any issues from the prior 24 hours related to systems and configuration
- Influence quarterly priorities and system improvement projects, generate project timelines charts and track execution with the wider team
- Design and improve UI and UX for Tesla’s Material Flow Software with a focus on Replenishment Call-Off systems, Warehousing and Conveyance
- Plans, design, coordinate and manage to completion capital and continuous improvement projects to meet quality, productivity, and cost objectives consistent with departmental goals
- Organize the team’s SQL Queries and Tableau and other Visualization Dashboards tracking Performance KPI’s for warehousing and conveyance
- Schedule workforce in creating new dashboards and KPI metrics and reports out on estimate completion timelines to department management
- Drive inter-departmental initiatives and changes to material flow physical and systematical processes with the goal of cost reduction and process improvement
- 2-3 years of experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI or any other industry standard tools
- Advanced working knowledge of SQL and experience with multiple data architecture paradigms (MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Vertica, Spark) with proficiency in Python and python data analysis packages (e.g. pandas, numpy)
- Highly skilled in programming (R, Python). Apache Airflow is a plus
- Build and maintain local ETLs for our specific production critical dashboards and ad-hoc reporting
- Heavily experienced in Query optimization techniques to keep our reports faster and highly scalable
- Demonstrated ability to provide insights and conclusions from large, dense datasets, stellar in debugging/root causing potential data inaccuracies
- Working knowledge of design/development of manufacturing systems with emphasis on supply chain management
