GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Plant Engineer will be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines for all projects in a chemical manufacturing environment. They lead all the technical activities aiming at assuring project scope execution, schedule, and cost from Feasibility to Start Up.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Project Management from cradle to grave (including CAR writing, scoping, specifications, design, implementation, verification, documentation, SOP writing, Training and project closing).
- Become the Site SME (Subject Matter Expert) for all new Projects.
- Develop project objectives and Engineering scope.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams like R&D, Safety, Quality, TPM, Reliability and Production for integrated project success.

- Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve process-related issue that impact quality, cost and throughput.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends; map out workflows, identify bottlenecks, and make data-driven recommendations to operational improvement.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies or systems to enhance process efficiency.
- Applying Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to optimize existing processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- General understanding of PLC, HMI, and Control Systems.
- Standard knowledge of manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to write equipment/process troubleshooting guides.
- Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and tasks.
- Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
- Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
- Leads multiple projects concurrently.
- Maintains and updates project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
- Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
- Controls project costs and execute on time schedules.
- Experience in the following:
- o Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
- o Risk Assessments/PHA
- o FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)
- o IQ / OQ Process (Installation & Operational Qualification)
- o CQV (Commissioning, Qualification, Verification) & Vertical Start Up
- o Capital Cost Estimation
- o TPM (FI/PM Pillar, Early Equipment Management, CILs)
- Assist in the writing of and training on a Manufacturing SOP.
- Assemble manuals used by the Maintenance Team for ordering parts and troubleshooting equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with process development and process validation
- No immigration sponsorship available for this position

- Strong computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
