Production Development Coordinator

The Deamer Group is currently in search of a Product Development Coordinator (PDC) for our Charleston, SC client. This is a full-time position required to work onsite. Qualified candidates must submit a resume for consideration. Please review the full description for details.
Position Summary
The Product Development Coordinatoris an integral member of the team supporting the product development team. They are responsible for fabric, trim and garment development from concept to production. The PDC must ensure that all products are within budget and maintain quality expectations.
The ideal candidate will have prior apparel development experience. They must have a positive attitude, be a highly detailed, self-motivated, self-starter. They must be able to give and receive constructive criticisms when pertaining to the work.
Responsibilities:

• Participates and manages the fabric and trim development from concept through production.
• Sources fabrics to meet business goals for aesthetics, cost targets and regional production.
• Organizes fabrics and trim development into binders.
• Creates and manages product time and actions to meet GTM calendar dates.
• Participates in prototype development actively managing all aspects of garment proto development.
• Works with design to ensure tech packs and BOMS are complete and "factory ready".
• Sends proto requests to factories and manages time and action calendar.
• Communicates any adjustments in fittings for review.
• Develops protos within vendor base.
• Develops fabric and garments into a business costing strategy.
• Works with vendors to educate on price buckets and development strategy.
• Inputs proto costing and evaluating GM% based in suggested MSRP.
• Develops cost engineered options where necessary to meet GM% targets.
• Provide reporting to manager/director.
• Manages lab dips, handlooms and strike off submits, comments and approvals within the development cycle to meet GTM calendar dares and aesthetics.
• Reviews and submits (SMS and Bulk) again approved lab dipos.
• Reviews FIT samples (proto, fit, and pp) for fabric, color, trims against standards and determines if acceptable to pass to TD for fitting.
• Identifies substitutions prior to fittings.
• Participates in FIT sessions, fittings, calls out substitutions, takes notes to share with teams and confirms how to proceed if design adjustments impact cost or delivery.
• Responsible for the development of SMS samples, organizing SMS review with design.
• Tracks SMS Samples, identifies substitutions, and maintains time and action for on time SMS samples.
• Provides detail notes by SKU in development trackers and report to sales.
• Maintains fabric, color, handloom, strike off approvals in PLM systems.
• Reviews and downloads T/P from PLM and shares with vendors.
• Test fabrics, proto and garment testing.
• Develops new vendors for development systems and Marolina product performance standards.

Status: Exempt
Schedule: 40 hours Monday - Friday
Salary: Starting at $60,000 + DOE

Qualifications

• Associate degree in fashion, merchandising or related field/preferred
• 2-5 years of apparel product development or related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to make critical decisions and proven problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent emotional intelligence with the ability to give and receive constructive criticism.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong computer skills; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
• Ability to work in cross functional teams and manage up.
• Illustrator and technical design understanding a plus.
