Job Description
Production Coordinator
An employee who manages the entire Production floor is responsible for accepting/rejecting Work Orders in the Production Manager Bin and ensuring that the accepted Work Orders are completed in the safest, most efficient, and faultless way possible. He/She will complete reports and have meetings that illustrates the work status and resolves issues that have come up on the Production floor. He/She will ensure each department has checked that the merchandise is without blemish before moving to the next stage of Production. He/She coordinates the scheduling of the Work Orders with the department leads at the Production meeting.
Job Duties:
- Request the purchase of necessary materials for the Production staff
- Manage the operation of the entire Production floor
- Maintain Production quality
- Daily checkups of every department looking for safety, effectiveness and any other problems department leads may have
- Approve jobs in the Production Manager bin and stage them with computer software
- Sign off on job approval of rejected merchandise, when applicable
- Confirm that each department is ensuring the standards and quality that are expected at Super Color Digital
- Stage jobs in Production, beginning with Preflight, using the computer system
- Attend Production meetings, be ready to contribute advice and status of current Work Orders as well as open Work Orders
- Create spreadsheets and documents that describe status of Work Orders and procedures used on the machines
- Oversee and facilitate all production departments including purchasing, stockroom, shipping, receiving and drivers
- Adhere to scheduled timelines for all scheduled shipments
- Create Daily Production Reports which are given to Director of Operations
- Maintain lockdown protocols for secured graphic projects
- Manage unacceptable employee performance using Disciplinary Action Notices, counseling, and regular performance evaluations
- Host daily operation and status meetings with multiple departments
- Oversee all daily requirements and scheduling for next shift
- Train personnel on workflow with the ability to lead, coach and inspire teams to excel and meet deadlines
- Communicate frequently with Director of Operations and implement decisions through department leads
- Check that all information regarding Work Order is correct before accepting job, make sure that employees perform duties perfectly and check that all information is correct regarding Work Order/merchandise before allowing a job to be shipped out from Super Color Digital
Experience and Skills Requires:
· 5+ years in the graphics industry
· Minimum 5years experience in production management
· Lean Manufacturing, TQM, and/or Six Sigma training technical certification—or equivalent experience preferred
· Must be a visionary who is always seeking new and innovative processes
· Must be available during “off” hours via the company cell phone
· Works with a keen sense of urgency, and highly time conscientious
· Possess common sense
· Ability to manage failures and crisis in a calm manner
· Ability to recommend and implement solutions to address productions problems
