Bally Sports Southwest is looking for a Production Coordinator to join our team! This position will coordinate transmission of broadcast content to and from broadcasting facilities as well as support production and troubleshoot issues for day-to-day operations as part of the engineering department. This position will report to the Chief Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- The scheduling of transmission facilities for all Southwest studio, remote, and miscellaneous production events through various remote transmission service providers including satellite, streaming, IP, and fiber vendors.
- Perform technical evaluation and adjustments to all incoming signals.
- Interface with multiple departments to ensure all show requirements are met
- Aggregate daily show information for the EIC on duty
- Troubleshooting any issues pertaining to the delivery of programming
- Troubleshooting any issues pertaining to the production at the Southwest Studio and remote sites.
- Assist with day-to-day engineering tasks
Requirements and Qualifications:
- College Degree (Technical or AV Production) preferred, or experience equivalent
- Proficiency in Windows, Apple, and Linux operating systems.
- Proficient in Office 365 apps.
- Ability to accommodate continuing technical education.
- Ability to work effectively under stressful Live Remote Broadcast and system outages.
- Must be able to analyze complex system problems and take corrective action under pressure.
- Ability to lead in a fluid broadcast environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- This position requires a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can interface and manage with a diverse group of people and situations.
- Must be able to sit (and walk) at workstation for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Climb ladders, bending, pushing.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
- Must be able to work extended hours during special events and to support a 24/7/365 broadcast operation; available to work during weather-related conditions as necessary
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Knowledge of routers, monitoring equipment, video formats, compression technologies, file formats, frame synchronizers and video conversion techniques (e.g. aspect ratio, up and cross conversion)
- Knowledge of IP network equipment and design.
