JOB DUTIES
- Oversees the comprehensive operation of the Box Office and Theatre during public performances to ensure efficiency
- Collaborates with the Kelsey Theatre Box Office Manager and Kelsey Theatre House Manager to coordinate adequate staff coverage for scheduled performances
- Supervises staff to facilitate the smooth and orderly seating of patrons and the efficient clearing of the theatre after performances.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages phone and mail orders, responds to incoming calls, and returns phone messages.
- Manages the online ticketing system and handles in-person ticket sales at the box office during specified periods. Responsible for updating Theatre schedule on various Social Media platforms
- Works closely with the Livestream Coordinator to livestream performances.
- Distribute Assisted Listening system headsets
- Maintain clear access to fire exits at all times
- Provide assistance to patrons utilizing walkers, wheelchairs, and other aids Coordinates with Box Office and Production Stage Manager for start times, intermission control, etc.
- Immediately notify Security or Police in case of an emergency.
- Coordinate the setup of lobby refreshments for intermission.
- Support the team in preparing for and cleaning up after the Opening Night Reception.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises work -study students and volunteer ushers
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must have the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as part of the regular schedule
- General Schedule/Hours: Fridays from 5:30pm-10:30pm; Saturdays 12:30pm-10:30pm; Sundays 12:00pm-6:00pm- and other hours as needed
ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Positions in this class typically require: ability to use a key board, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
- As part of this position, you will be standing at the box office window and skillfully managing simultaneous tasks, including phone calls and serving window customers.
- As a substitute Theatre Manager, the ability to navigate stairs is essential for efficiently managing the audience area and assisting in seating patrons.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Required Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule which includes nights and weekends
- Experience managing and processing physical currency transactions

- AV/ Social media training/scenic design is a plus
- Previous box office experience
- Prior work experience with Kelsey Theatre.
