HealthEdge offers a paid 12-week virtual internship program that allows students to work on meaningful projects, learn about working in a SaaS company, and have fun along the way! While you are aligned to a specific team throughout the internship, you will get exposure to most of our departments and strategic initiatives via our HealthEdge 101 weekly series. In addition, we provide special events such as our Executive Roundtable and a Fireside Chat with our CEO. But that's not all! You will also have the opportunity to participate in workshops focused on resume writing, presentations, interview preparation, and more.
We are currently hiring a Product Engineering Intern to support our Payer product. HealthRules Payer has been ranked number one in its class among core administration platform solutions. Besides delivering 90%-97% first-pass auto-adjudication rates and 99%+ accuracy, it enables our customers to react swiftly to the latest regulatory shifts and competitive pressures. It opens the door to new value-based reimbursement models, benefit plans and provider contracts. And it provides business insights that improve outcomes, lower costs, and increases transparency.

As a Product Engineering Intern, you'll have the opportunity to support one or more of the following projects:
- Build observability in authorization match logic during claims adjudication.
- Migrate JMockit unit tests to Junit5.
- Run and analyze performance tests for accumulator code improvements
- Merge code to maintenance releases
- Enhance SystemPulse for SaaS customers
We ask that you are:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technology major
- Experienced with Java programming
- Basic understanding of SOLID principles and Test-Driven development
- Enthusiastic, energetic and collaborative
- Inquisitive and outspoken
Extras! But not required (if applicable):
- Python experience is a plus
- Java code performance analysis experience is a plus
