Product Development Engineer

Our group of subsidiaries is a market leader in the design, manufacturing and sales of boilers and related HVAC products and accessories, including furnaces, radiators, and air conditioning systems. We offer a broad line of high-value, energy efficient products sold under well-established brand names. Products are manufactured at company operated facilities in the East, South, and Midwestern United States.

We are seeking a Product Development Engineer to join our team! The Product Development Engineer will design and develop new product improvements. The ideal candidate should have experience with 2D CAD, 3D CAD, spreadsheets, word processing, and navigating computer operating systems.

This is a full-time position located in Peru, Indiana. Hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM; lunch, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Evaluates, analyzes, and makes recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements to improve the competitive position of the company.
• Procures materials needed to construct prototypes and supervises the design engineering of new models.
• Plans and develops test programs for prototypes.
• Analyzes test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional and performance specifications.
• Analyzes, evaluates, sources, and coordinates the procurement of new materials to support model changes.
• Performs technical analysis of competitive products.
• Provides support to sales and marketing on product presentations and customer support.
• Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university, or five to ten years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working knowledge of 2D CAD and 3D CAD drafting software
