Role/ Department:
The Global Family & Private Investment Offices team ("GFO") is a sales and client servicing group, within the Wealth Management division, specifically dedicated to supporting ultra-high net worth individuals and families (>$200m of investable assets), their charities and foundations. Given their wealth, these families act like institutions but require a personal and high touch approach, as well as the highest level of discretion. Our families wealth is mixed in nature with some being multi-generational inherited wealth and some being new entrepreneurial wealth. With the diversity of their investments, they often take a broad range of products and services from Northern Trust including asset servicing (custody), fiduciary, fund administration, investment management and banking/credit.
The Product Consultant role is responsible for ensuring the overall successful delivery of Partnership Accounting, General Ledger, and Tax Services to GFO clients including contributions, redemptions, registration, settlements, fees, and reporting. This contains understanding all products in Wealth Management, C&IS and NTAM as these clients can use any combination as well as understanding and working with our Tax Partners as these are taxable clients. They will liaise directly with internal partners to resolve issues and hence will be required to build an effective network throughout the bank to find solutions to issues raised.
The GFO team are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated and ambitious individual looking to grow in experience and knowledge alongside the group as we expand our client base.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Coordinates the administrative and relationships needs of our GFO relationships that uses Partnership Accounting and General Ledger services. Cultivating strong working relationships with clients and demonstrating value add by anticipating possible solutions and partnering with client to implement.
- Independently resolve issues and problems by using your internal network and product knowledge to explain and implement solutions in a timely manner.
- Executes daily client activity, oversees transaction processing, handles inquiry resolution, obtains appropriate documentation, and ensures systems information is up-to-date.
- Leading initiatives within GFO or Partnering with other areas to improve processes, streamline activities and reduce risk.
- Update Service Level Descriptions and internal procedures as appropriate.
- Able to facilitate discussions and reach decisions.
- Counsels clients on emerging and/or complex issues, changing regulatory environment, and ongoing changes in the relationship.
Skills/ Qualifications:
- A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required.
- 3 to 5 years of financial servicing/partnership accounting fields with client servicing background.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills either verbally or through presentation format.
- Able to research and resolve issues independently and assist with escalated client issues and client responses.
- Able to work effectively with RMs, Partnership Accounting, Tax Service, and other partner areas to identify and address process inefficiencies, control gaps, and enhance client deliverables to meet client needs
- Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
- Knowledge of Wealth Management, C&IS and NTAM Products.
