JOB DETAILS:
The University of Wisconsin-Stout's Purchasing and Materials Management department invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Procurement Specialist. The Procurement Specialist supports campus procurement needs and acts as a liaison between the University of Wisconsin-Stout, the Department of Administration, the University of Wisconsin System. and the vendor community. This position requires the interpretation and application of complex State and University administrative policies and procedures.
This is a full-time professional academic staff position. This position reports directly to the Director of Purchasing and Materials Management.
Limited remote work/telecommuting may be possible after completion of a training period, successful on-the-job performance, and departmental needs assessment and approval.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum / Required
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound professional judgement
  • Proficiency in office productivity software such as Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word and Excel)
Highly Desired/Preferred
  • Experience working in a procurement role
  • Experience developing and managing simplified bids, requests for bids and/or proposals
  • Experience negotiating contract terms and conditions
  • Experience with e-procurement software
  • Demonstrated commitment to establishing a work environment that embraces inclusion
RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
  • Administering the campus purchasing card program
  • Processing requisitions and purchase orders in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Assisting faculty and staff with the online e-procurement system (Jaggaer One Procurement)
  • Providing guidance to faculty and staff in interpreting procurement policies and procedures
  • Developing and managing solicitations (simplified bid, RFB, or RFP)
  • Reviewing and negotiating terms and conditions of campus purchases
  • Serving as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
