Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Public Policy Analyst/Researcher conducts Public Policy and legislative analyses and research; drafts related memos and factsheets, among other materials; and assists with developing and maintaining good working relationships with elected and appointed officials and their staff.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Essential requirements include emotional intelligence, exceptional writing and analytical skills, a passion for making a difference on behalf of our clients, a willingness to work hard, and a flexible, creative, and adaptive approach to addressing our clients’ needs and challenges.
- A bachelor’s degree and not less than five years of experience working on Public Policy and/or legislation in New York, preferably for an elected official or as staff in a legislative body or for a government executive.
- Strong legislation, policy, and/or regulation research and analysis skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills with the demonstrated ability to draft and edit professional policy materials.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while keeping multiple projects on track via strong organizational skills and ensuring good attention to detail.
- The ability to think and work flexibly, creatively, and innovatively on behalf of clients and the Oaktree team.
