Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for running injection molding machines and other auxiliary equipment to standard (Master Set Up)
to assure part quality and production process. Troubleshooting and solving problems as needed.
Essential Functions:
Safety
o Adheres to all safety guidelines and expectations (wear required PPE, follow safety protocols,
and report any safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses in a timely manner)
o Familiar with and can locate the Safety Data Sheet
o Understands OSHA’s “Right to Know” Policy
5S
o Follow the 5S procedure and guidance
o Keep the work area clean at all times
Product Quality
o Good understanding of the NIFCO Quality Policy
o Identification and handling of non-conforming products
o Skill and knowledge to read “Part Quality Standard”
o Visual inspection checks for part nonconformity (color, flash, spots, shorts, damage, etc.)
o Inform the Molding Supervisor when nonconformity is found
Injection Molding
o Verify running process to Master Set Up
o Set up auxiliary equipment if applicable and assist in process improvements
o Skills to read, understand, and verify part quality to the “Part Quality Standard” prior to reaching
out to the Quality Department for mass production start approval
o Respond to press and equipment alarms
o Monitor and correct any deviations to the process on MES (Black Screen)
o Assist in training and evaluation of Machine Operators
Other Duties
o Ensure the IATF16949(latest revision) standard related to Manufacturing are followed
o Other assigned tasks by the Engineering Manager as needed
Education:
Highschool diploma or GED equivalent
Skills/Experience/Requirements:
Must complete all safety and environmental trainings required
(e.g.: Lock-out-Tag-out, HAZCOM, Blood Borne Pathogens, Sexual Harassment)
Must be certified to operate cranes
Must be able to read and understand verbal and written instructions in English
Must be able to accurately solve intermediate mathematical problems including, but not limited to
calculating averages
Must be able to trouble shoot defects and determine root cause
Must possess a high degree of knowledge regarding injection molding process and equipment to
successfully execute essential functions
Excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities
Must be able to work independently with little supervision
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
Excellent prioritizing skills
Must pass pre-employment screening
