FUNCTION:
Acts as the primary liaison between the Manufacturing/Process/Quality Engineering functions and the production personnel in matters affecting improved processes, efficiencies, and product quality. These improvements will be accomplished through direct operator training and consistent application of manufacturing processes. Observes and provides feedback on the various engineering functions that drive continuous improvements.

- Be a SME in a variety of areas/functions, such that they can provide direct training to employees in matters related to...
- New hire orientation
- PCB assembly and soldering
- Electronic assembly
- Electronic testing
- Quality & Inspection
- OEM Production documentation and procedures
- Service Center documentation and procedures
- Safety
- Observe processes, initiate improvement ideas and see through to implementation.
- Process/Quality Audits
- Update internal procedures and process documentation as needed.
- Act as the technical liaison between sites, functions and other technical personnel.
- Partner with Engineering, Production and Materials teams to deliver results.
- Any other work as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education
Engineering-related Associate's degree or equivalent experience
Travel
Potential for daily trips to Design Engineering site (1-2 trips per year)
Experience
- 5+ years of experience providing training to individuals
- 5-7 years' experience in a technical Manufacturing/Engineering environment.
- Prior experience working in the Aerospace industry is a plus
- Prior experience/knowledge related specifically to Binghamton PDS operations a plus
Qualifications
- PCB assembly and soldering experience
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings
- Hands-on experience with mechanical/electronic assembly preferred
- Understanding of quality functions and expectations, including inspection techniques
- Strong analytical thinking, problem solving skills and communication skills (both written and verbal) with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to relationship-building, both internally and externally.
- Self-directed and be able to work well under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
