Job Description:
The Process Engineer role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of new or revised processes. This position is for an Experienced Professional who applies practical knowledge in the field, typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. The individual in this role should be capable of working independently with general supervision and may influence others within the job area through the explanation of facts, policies, and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Work on process problems of moderate scope, assisting with projects or processes while receiving general instructions from higher-level professionals.
- Design equipment and processes to ensure the most efficient and productive operations.
- Plan the sequence of operations and specify procedures for preparing materials and operating equipment.
- Determine process design by balancing process cost, yield, and material waste considerations.
- Conduct tests throughout all stages of processing to determine control over applicable variables and prevent/solve process problems.
- Support continuous improvement and automation activities.
- Utilize Six Sigma methodology to drive cost savings and improvements in waste and scrap.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with rubber manufacturing.
- Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
