Job Description
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Process Engineer is responsible for a level of high degree of mechanical engineering skills and independent judgment.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Provide all technical support to Injection Molding manufacturing including root cause identification and correction of scrap Issues and documentation of process changes as required
- With direction from engineering management, assist in implementing process improvements.
- Ensure proper process parameters at beginning of each shift.
- Ensure all required documentation is completed and distributed correctly.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed correctly by maintenance personnel in order to maintain a consistent process.
- Assisting with tool changes and ensuring they are completed in a safe, timely manner by coordinating with maintenance and production personnel.
- Follow all lock out tag out procedures for authorized personnel.
- Provide on call troubleshooting and process control support as needed.
- Communicate effectively with shift supervisors, maintenance personnel and ensure issues are corrected and lessons learned are shared.
- Perform routine daily maintenance items to tools that allow consistency in the process.
- Perform hourly checks of critical operating parameters and records results on production sheet
- Performs manufacturing functions on the line as needed
- Ensure lines do not shut down due to lack of materials
- Required to rotate and learn all operations in assigned work area
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, Etc:
- Requires a high school diploma/GED
- Must be able to work overtime
- 5+ years of Injection Molding experience preferred
- Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes- including Injection Molding
- Basic knowledge of equipment, daily repair and troubleshooting
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to fingers, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls to work in an office/production environment
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus to work
