The Durez Niagara Falls, NY plant has an opening for a Process Engineer, this is a full-time position, annual salary between $75,000-89,000 paid on a bi-weekly basis. The Process Engineer will have direct input into the manufacturing process. The person selected will take key responsibility for a range of process flow activities to ensure the manufacturing plants achieve optimum production output, sustain quality requirements, as well as regulatory compliance. In addition, the incumbent will play a key role alongside other engineering staff, maintenance, operations, and chemical operators to ensure proper design, procurement & construction processes are followed, and capital projects are put in place to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
Essential Functions:
- Carry out process improvement/optimization work including planning and supervising in production trials and determining areas requiring process improvements and coordinating efforts to attain such
- Coordinate the evaluation of new and current materials to consistently maintain and improve product quality and performance.
- Provide support to operations and R & D in evaluation of new process equipment providing technical backup and knowledge to improve quality of existing products and/or product development
- Trouble-shoot chemical and process related operating problems
- Review process control and SOP’s
- As business needs dictate, will work with other engineering staff and outside contractors to implement projects
- Will monitor project progress to ensure contractors are qualified and receive sufficient communication to ensure a “Safety First” culture and successful startup
- Assist with development of short and long term capital plans
- Attend professional and technical functions
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping and instrument drawings (P&ID’s)
- Use computer modeling and simulations to design and evaluate process and operating systems
- Upholds safety, health, environmental procedures, communicates directly and supports the EHS department to ensure OSHA and EPA compliance at all times

Education/Experience Guidelines:
- 1 – 5 years’ experience preferred
- BS Degree in Engineering or related field preferred
- Computer skills are a must with knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, VISIO, and PowerPoint
- AutoCAD knowledge a plus
- Excellent communication skills and experience applying technology through teamwork
- Experience working in a union environment preferred
