JOB DESCRIPTION: Professional Home Care Aid
GUARDIAN HOME CARE SERVICES Home Care Aid is responsible for the day-to-day provision of executive home care services to clients. Home Care Aid will compassionately assist seniors and the disabled with activities of daily living and Instrumental activities of daily living, to remain independent at home for as long as possible. These services may also be paid for privately. The Home Health Care professionals work under the direction of a Service Supervisor to ensure that the agency is achieving its identified outcomes and goals for our clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prefer high school degree or GED
- Must have at least one year of employment experience as In Home Private Caregiver
- Ability to communicate with clients and to remain calm under stress
- Ability to read and write in English
- A Certified Home Health Care Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant registered in the state or has pass the agency requirements for a personal care worker may perform the Homemaker duties
- Ability to follow oral and written directions and complete work as assigned
- Ability to maintain confidentiality about client services and personal information
- Maintain current state driver’s license and have dependable insured automobile
- Provide written proof of health status and ability to lift, bend, squat the level and amount determined by each job assigned
- Present a neat appearance and positive work attitude
Home Care Aides Duties:
Health and Safety Code Section 1795.12(n) Defines home care services as non-medical services, and assistance provided by a registered Home Care Aide toa client who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability, cannot perform these activities.

- Client rights and responsibilities including respect for client and their property, ethics, advance directives

- Hand hygiene, universal precautions, and infection control
- Safety in the home
- Cleaning procedures
- Homemaker duties
- Shopping, food preparation and storage
- Laundry
- Companion activities
- Helping a client bathe, dress, use the restroom.
- Assisting the clients with transferring, ambulating, and/or positioning.
- Driving the client to appointments or to run errands.
- Supervisory availability and direction
- Emergency plan implementation
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates support for the agency Mission Statement to promote quality, efficient, comprehensive, and effective client services.
- Participates in and supports the agency’s performance improvement activities.
- Performs light housekeeping tasks including:
- Planning and preparing nutritious meals and assisting in feeding client as needed.
- Light housekeeping of client’s environment, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning kitchen and bathroom, linen changes, and making the bed.
- Laundry of client’s clothing and bedding.
- Shopping/Transportation with signed release.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides and documents services following the Homemaker service plan
- Uses household equipment and supplies safely.
- Social interaction /behavior modification activities as instructed on the service plan.
- Maintenance of a clean, safe client environment.
- Practices safety precautions and infection control measures.
- Implements of emergency or disaster measures, if necessary.
- Reports any incidents or client concerns to the supervisor.
- Appropriately seeks supervisory assistance as necessary to effectively perform duties.
- Maintains confidentiality of clients, personnel, and agency operations.
- Meets productivity requirements established for Homemaker caseload.
- Participates in required four hours of in-services and training as assigned.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.47 - $19.83 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
