The Role:
Whole Foods Market (“WFM”) is hiring an experienced Technology/Finance Operations professional with a strong financial background to be a Technology Portfolio Manager within the Technology Management Office (TMO) function. The TMO team is a key strategic partner between Finance and Tech, supporting six portfolio leaders including Retail, Engineering Services, Digital Engineering, Security, Infrastructure Engineering, and Data Analytics, and are committed to supporting portfolio financials, budget/expense, resource planning and vendor/contract management mechanisms across all technology domains.
You will lead key areas including Purchasing & Payments, Accruals & Reclassifications, Budget and Forecast Management, Expense Reporting & Analysis, Contract Management, Supplier Lifecycle Management & Onboarding, monthly VP and CTO P&L Analysis & Reporting.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Cross-functional collaboration with Tech, Finance, Accounting, and Legal to provide financial transactional insights, identify opportunities, and produce financial reporting/dashboards for Technology VPs across Store Support and Geographical Operations.
- Serve as a strategic and analytical partner, financial steward, and advocate for Store Support and Worldwide Retail Technology Operations.
- Facilitate conversations between Store Support partners and Tech Teams to:
- Ensure appropriate updates to financial reporting, dashboards, and targets based on approved worldwide initiatives.
- Utilize economic decision framework to support prioritization and data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure portfolio balance; spend allocation and forecasts are in alignment with strategy.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and dashboards for our Technology Portfolio partners on all program results
- Own content for business reviews with Store Support and Retail Technology Operations Leadership.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior leadership.
- Identify budgeting/forecasting improvement opportunities and proactively lead the development of financial analysis and models to solve complex challenges that impact long-range planning.
- Support TMO leadership in the development of team processes:
- Contribute to TMO process improvement and automation, report streamlining opportunities, and assumption validation considerations.
- Provide operational insights, trends, and challenges to incorporate into monthly and quarterly financial performance reviews and forecast update conversations with cross-portfolio technology partners.
- Contribute to improvements to financial planning & analysis (FP&A) processes to meet the organization’s financial forecast projections most effectively across technology portfolios.
- Cultivate and maintain a high level of curiosity about our business and technology leaders to better understand the primary drivers of financial performance and influence strategy.
- Generate high-quality deliverables appropriate for executive presentations.
- Creatively adapts to unexpected obstacles and reallocates self and team’s time, priorities, and resources accordingly.
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
Education & Experience:
- BA/BS and/or Master’s degree and 6-8 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Education in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred.
