ABOUT THE ROLE

Responsible for working with advisors and clients to discuss all investment strategies (public and private). Works proactively to develop a thorough understanding of Westwood’s offerings. This position works closely with both private wealth advisors and clients to understand their financial goals and risk tolerance and will then create and implement investment plans that align with those goals.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Client Portfolio Manager

  • Build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth clients
  • Understand clients' financial goals and risk tolerance, and create personalized investment plans that align with those objectives
  • Continuously monitor and adjust clients' portfolios as market conditions and clients' circumstances change
  • Communicate with clients regularly (verbal and written) to provide updates on economic outlook, their portfolio performance and to address any concerns or questions they may have
  • Stay up to date on market trends and changes to inform investment decisions and strategies
  • Attend client meetings with advisers
  • Become a member of the strategic asset allocation committee and investment oversight committee; recommend asset allocation changes
  • Assist with analytical work to support the wealth investment strategies
  • Provide mentorship to younger members of the team
  • Conduct complex financial presentations to current, new and prospective clients highlighting Westwood’s investment strategy, account performance and new products.
  • Perform ongoing account reviews of asset allocation models, request re-balancing to targets and review of required account documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related field
  • CFA or CFP Preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in Wealth Management or a related field

  • Superior interpersonal, organizational and client service skills with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Strong understanding of investment products and strategies
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance targets
  • Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette with a client focus.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Mature, polished and professional presence and disposition.
  • Positive attitude with a friendly and upbeat demeanor.
  • Highly motivated and proactive with a willingness to assist in all tasks.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a small team environment
