Job Description:
The Network Engineer (Networks) will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and managing the EOIR's robust networking infrastructure to support mission-critical operations. This technical expert will ensure the reliability and security of both local and wide-area network connections within the organization. The role requires a thorough understanding of network architecture, including but not limited to managing LAN/WAN, WLAN, routers, switches, and related software. As a specialist in network services, the Network Engineer will coordinate with service providers like AT&T's Justice United Telecommunications Network (JUTNet) and manage all aspects of the network lifecycle from configuration to performance metrics and security management. Effective communication and documentation skills are essential to meet the compliance and regulatory requirements. The Network Engineer reports to the IT Department Head and must possess or be capable of obtaining a Public Trust Clearance.

Requirements:
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possession of an active Public Trust Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
The position is onsite at designated DOJ locations.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, with 10 years related experience, or a Master's Degree with 8 years related experience.
Professional certifications in networking (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desired.
In-depth expertise in the management of network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN.
Proficient with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (such as Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Live NX, and Zscaler).
Capability in configuration management, load balancing, and security management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent documentation skills for maintaining compliance with network performance and security standards.
Superior communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities:
Design and maintain EOIR networking infrastructure including hardware and software components.
Interface with JUTNet and other service providers to ensure uninterrupted network services.
Oversee network performance, security management, and ensure that network infrastructure complies with organizational policies and standards.
Perform configuration management and auditing using SecureCRT, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, and other relevant tools.
Manage load balancing across various platforms, including F5 & MS Azure, and NGINX.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide end-to-end network solutions for the EOIR.
Provide physical and remote troubleshooting, cabling management, and network maintenance.
Coordinate and document all network modifications, and installation of patch panels, conduits, and cabling infrastructure.
